Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to provide technical expertise and on‑site support for customers implementing its enterprise AI and autonomy software. The role blends deep software development with direct customer interaction, ensuring successful integration of Shield AI’s Hivemind platform across a variety of unmanned systems.

Key responsibilities

• Become an expert user of the Hivemind Enterprise Autonomy SDK and develop AI applications for air, sea, land, and space platforms.
• Deploy Hivemind AI infrastructure at customer sites and provide hands‑on technical training.
• Assist customers in integrating Hivemind autonomy into their vehicles, troubleshooting software and API issues.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to convey customer feedback and improve the product.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
• Support the sales team by answering complex technical queries.
• Travel to customer locations as required (approximately 30% travel).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Strong technical background with modern C++ development.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python programming.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
