Staff Nurse – Cardiology (12‑month maternity cover)

About the role

An exciting 12‑month maternity cover opportunity for a motivated Staff Nurse to join the Acute Cardiology Ward (G9) at Frimley Park Hospital. You will work on a 20‑bed ward delivering specialist care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions and gain exposure to a range of cardiac procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑standard patient care on the acute cardiology ward in line with Trust policies and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain accurate, confidential nursing documentation and adhere to clinical governance standards.
• Report incidents, complaints and staffing concerns appropriately and support the Ward Manager in fostering a positive team environment.
• Provide specialist advice on cardiac conditions and procedures while promoting patient education and wellbeing.
• Teach and mentor student nurses, newly qualified nurses and new staff members.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience in acute cardiac care or a strong interest in cardiology.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to a 12‑month maternity cover secondment.
