Staff Nurse – Coronary Care Unit (Courtlands Ward)

About the role

Join the dynamic Coronary Care Unit team on Courtlands Ward, a 17‑bed unit delivering specialist care for a wide range of cardiac conditions. You will work alongside experienced nurses to provide high‑quality, person‑centred care while developing your cardiology expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based clinical care to patients with ischaemic heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, valve disease, endocarditis, and arrhythmia.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to protect and promote patient health and wellbeing.
• Follow Trust policies, protocols and local guidelines in all activities.
• Act as a role model, communicating Trust values to patients, carers and colleagues.
• Accept delegated responsibilities from senior nurses, working within your competence.
• Maintain and develop your own practice through continuous learning.
• Supervise and mentor students and junior staff, providing teaching and role‑modelling.

Required profile

• Current UK NMC registration.
• Hard‑working, proactive and keen to develop cardiology skills.
• Commitment to delivering holistic, person‑centred care.
• Ability to work full‑time on a permanent basis in an onsite hospital setting.
