Staff Nurse – Inpatient Services

About the role

The Inpatient Services department at Mid Argyll Hospital is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join a 15‑bed GP acute ward. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering acute, rehabilitation and day‑case care in a community hospital setting on Scotland's west coast.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to patients admitted with acute conditions.
• Collaborate with the Accident & Emergency, outpatient, and rehabilitation teams.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and transfusions as required.
• Support day‑case services and adjunct therapies.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to care planning.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NHS registration.
• Experience in acute inpatient or GP‑led ward environments.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and patient‑centred care.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and monitoring.
• Medication administration and IV therapy.
• Wound care and basic transfusion procedures.
• Accurate documentation and use of NHS clinical systems.
