Staff Nurse – Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU)

About the role

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU) at Frimley Park Hospital. The role offers a fast‑paced environment with strong support for professional development and the chance to work with state‑of‑the‑art facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with acute conditions such as GI bleeds, DKA, respiratory failure, heart failure, and severe electrolyte imbalance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care, ensuring treatments follow Trust policies.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care with minimal supervision.
• Make and receive referrals across disciplines and participate in health promotion activities.
• Perform extended role procedures including intravenous injections, inotropes, CPAP/BiPAP, and manage central and arterial lines.

Required profile

• Compassionate and motivated registered nurse with an interest in acute medicine.
• Willingness to broaden clinical skills and work independently within a supportive team.
• Ability to follow infection control standards and Trust policies.
