Staff Nurse – Oncology Ward

About the role

The Christie is seeking a compassionate Staff Nurse to join Ward 4, an acute medical oncology unit specialising in altered airways. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced cancer care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acutely unwell oncology patients and provide specialist nursing interventions.
• Recognise early signs of patient deterioration and act promptly.
• Administer chemotherapy regimens and support patients through treatment side‑effects.
• Provide palliative and end‑of‑life care, including symptom control.
• Educate patients and families about their condition and treatment.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and act as patient advocate.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation and follow evidence‑based practice.

• Willingness to undertake specialist training such as UKONs chemotherapy certification.
