Staff Nurse – Recovery

About the role

Join a passionate Post‑Anaesthetic Care team delivering high‑quality recovery for patients across a wide range of surgical specialties. This permanent NHS position offers the chance to make a real difference in patient outcomes while working in a supportive, friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post‑operative care for Main Theatres covering General Surgery, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Vascular & Spinal, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and ENT.
• Support the Day Surgical Unit and Radiology suite, including dedicated Paediatric and Obstetric bays.
• Deliver care for Level 1‑2 extended/overnight patients, ensuring safe and effective recovery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of patient safety and comfort.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (Level 1) with current NMC registration.
• IV certification.
• Relevant post‑registration experience in post‑anaesthetic or critical care settings.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to service needs.
• Experience using patient information systems.

Required skills

• IV certification.
• ENB 998 teaching and assessing course or mentor preparation.
• Relevant Recovery/HDU/Critical care qualification.
• Good computer skills.
• Proficiency with patient information systems.
