Staff Nurse – Vaccination Team (Band 5)

About the role

The Staff Nurse Vaccinator will join the NHS Western Isles Vaccination Team based at the Balivanich Community Clinic. Working 21.6 hours per week, you will help ensure equitable access to COVID‑19 and other vaccinations for residents across the Western Isles.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe and efficient vaccination services in a variety of community settings.
• Collaborate with the Community Nursing Team to maintain high standards of care outside peak vaccination periods.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
• Promote public health messages and support patients throughout the vaccination process.

Required profile

• Qualified registered nurse (Band 5 level).
• Willingness to register with the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Commitment to work the advertised 21.6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.

• Band 5 salary ranging from £34,544 to £43,039 pro rata.
• Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 pro rata.
