Stock Controller – Fixed Term (18 months)

About the role

The Stock Controller will be based at Brenntag’s Manchester depot, supporting the Dublin site’s supply chain for an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. You will ensure that all inbound shipments are accurately recorded, costed and compliant with import legislation, while providing timely information to commercial and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse forward orders, customer and supplier contracts to drive cost‑effective purchasing and meet demand.
• Liaise with operations teams to guarantee timely receipt of goods and maintain a detailed log of shipments and costings.
• Check import documentation, contractual clauses and customs declarations, ensuring correct on‑costs are applied before receipting.
• Track invoices, chase suppliers for missing paperwork (C of A, delivery notes) and ensure prompt settlement.
• Monitor legislative changes in shipping controls and coordinate tariff and duty management with central services.
• Escalate any supplier or depot delivery failures to the Dublin supply‑chain team for rapid customer communication.
• Review and improve logistics processes, promoting best‑practice across the UK&I business.
• Act as the internal point of contact on import legislation and procedural compliance.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
• Good understanding of import regulations, customs procedures and tariff management.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as logistics, finance and product management.
• Proactive problem‑solver who can identify process improvements and drive continuous improvement.
