Store Apprentice - Toolstation, Portsmouth

About the role

Toolstation in Portsmouth is recruiting a Store Apprentice on a permanent, part-time basis of 20 hours per week, at £10.85 per hour. The apprenticeship programme is described as equivalent to 5 GCSEs and is aimed at people living locally who can easily commute to the store. Stores are open from 7 AM to 8 PM, so early starts and late finishes are required.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers, understand their needs and provide excellent service through genuine conversation
• Handle deliveries, stock shelves and assist with warehouse tasks
• Maintain a clean and well-organised store, keeping it ready for customers and safe for colleagues
• Set aside time each week to complete coursework, supported by the Store Manager and a dedicated apprenticeship coach

Required profile

• Lives locally and can easily commute to the store
• A positive, warm and friendly attitude with a passion for customer service
• Reliable and flexible, able to adapt to varied tasks
• Energetic and enthusiastic, willing to learn; no retail experience required
