Store Manager - Convenience

About the role

Sainsbury's is recruiting a full-time, permanent Store Manager for its Northgate convenience store in Oxford (OX1 3AD). The role is paid from £33,450 depending on experience, store size, complexity and location. The manager has full control of the shop and is accountable for delivering good food, accessible and affordable for everyone, while a team of Customer and Trading Managers runs the shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare for trading activity, anticipating issues from today to six months ahead, ensuring everything is safe and legal
• Deliver excellent customer experiences and continuously improve the customer journey
• Manage the team of Customer and Trading Managers and lead through change while supporting team wellbeing
• Use data and insight to inform planning, performance and customer experience

Required profile

• Experience leading an operation with accountability for customer, financial and organisational outcomes
• Experience managing a fast-paced operation across service, sales and team performance
• Experience managing employee relations cases including dismissals, with confidence in applying HR policies
• Experience developing and supporting leadership capability within a team
• Role model of service and business values
