Store Manager – Retail Leadership

About the role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, customer‑focused leader to run a Morrisons Daily convenience store in Basildon. As the Store Manager you will act as the “shopkeeper”, responsible for delivering an outstanding shopping experience while treating the store as your own business.

Key responsibilities

• Drive commercial performance by increasing sales, managing costs and developing the product offering.
• Lead the team to provide best‑in‑class customer service and maintain the Morrisons brand promise.
• Oversee recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of all staff.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety, operational standards and legal requirements.
• Build strong relationships with the local community and act as its champion.
• Adapt working hours to meet business needs, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Proven ability to inspire, develop and motivate a retail team.
• Hands‑on attitude with willingness to work alongside staff on daily tasks.
• Resilient and adaptable in a fast‑paced, customer‑oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
