Strategic Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Finance Business Partner to join a large, complex organisation undergoing significant transformation. In this senior finance lead position you will act as a trusted advisor to senior operational directors and executive stakeholders, shaping financial strategy and supporting high‑profile programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance partnership for senior operational directors and executive stakeholders.
• Provide strategic financial advice, challenge decisions and deliver commercial support.
• Own financial planning for revenue, capital expenditure and long‑term forecasting.
• Support medium‑term financial plans and major transformation programmes.
• Produce high‑quality financial models, business cases and investment appraisals.
• Analyse performance, identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Drive value‑for‑money initiatives, cost‑improvement programmes and commercial opportunities.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Collaborate with HR, Procurement, IT and Legal to deliver integrated business support.

Required profile

• Recognised CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading finance business partnering in a large, complex organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and management reporting.
• Experience producing financial models, business cases and investment appraisals.
• Previous management experience with a passion for developing finance teams.
