Strategic Marketing Lead (Associate Director) Oncology

About the role

MSD is looking for a Strategic Marketing Lead (Associate Director) for its Oncology Business Unit in London, based at Moorgate WeWork. The role leads the long-term strategy for the UK oncology portfolio, guides a team of up to five marketing professionals and translates breakthrough science into outcomes for patients. Working is hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Define the long-term strategy and ambition for assigned brands, set portfolio priorities and localise global assets and programmes for UK customers.
• Lead launch and lifecycle planning, monitor KPIs and market dynamics and adapt strategy to meet forecast ambitions.
• Manage the marketing team directly, coaching and developing staff, and lead a matrixed team across Medical Affairs, Market Access, Field Teams and other partners.
• Own the annual financial planning and forecasting for assigned brands and work with Finance on accurate reporting and governance.
• Build relationships with external experts and key customers to generate insight on unmet need and the UK healthcare environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or life sciences; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
• Significant experience in UK pharmaceutical marketing, including successful launches.
• Experience in oncology.
• Demonstrated people leadership, including line management or strong matrix leadership.
• Proven track record of commercial strategies that drive revenue growth and improved patient outcomes.

Required skills

• Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of the ABPI Code of Practice.
• Line management, marketing strategy implementation, oncology marketing and cross-functional collaboration.
