Head of Policy & Insights

About the role

Arbor Education, a provider of MIS and school management tools used in over 12,000 schools, is looking for an experienced Head of Policy & Insights to join its Strategic Marketing team in London (hybrid). The role covers the full insights value chain: analysing an internal dataset covering around 13,000 schools, generating market, competitor and customer insight, and using that evidence to shape internal planning and national policy discussions with the DfE and think tanks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the research and analysis behind the company's 5-year strategic plan, including new market adjacencies, potential acquisitions and long-term growth levers
• Maintain a live view of the competitive landscape and produce regular briefings on competitor strategy and market shifts for Product and Sales
• Brief the Management Team regularly on external risks and opportunities, acting as a trusted advisor on the sector's direction
• Analyse the internal dataset to uncover national trends (for example the link between attendance and attainment) and author white papers, blogs and reports with Brand and Content
• Represent Arbor in the sector, building relationships with the DfE, policy makers and influencers, and monitor the DfE policy pipeline and legislative changes
• Partner with Brand to turn data-led stories into PR coverage in the national press

Required profile

• Deep understanding of the UK education sector, government policy and the EdTech market
• Proven experience in a research, strategy or think-tank role delivering end-to-end data projects
• Exceptional writing and speaking skills, able to present to management and analyse datasets in Excel
• Self-sufficient autonomy as a standalone lead
