Street Cleansing Team Leader (HGV required)

About the role

Veolia is seeking a Street Cleansing Team Leader to oversee daily operations of its vehicle fleet and cleaning crews in the heart of London. You will work closely with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Service Delivery Manager with daily vehicle and asset checks at shift start and throughout the day.
• Distribute and explain worksheets, round/beat sheets, and maps to staff, ensuring they understand their tasks.
• Verify that all tools and equipment are serviceable and appropriate for the job.
• Investigate any accidents involving staff, vehicles, or equipment and produce required documentation.
• Conduct contract monitoring surveys and generate related reports.
• Ensure weekly cleansing of vehicles and equipment according to schedule.
• Sign off the workforce at shift end, collect and file all documentation.
• Provide cover for the Manager when needed.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or management experience in a transport or cleaning environment.
• Valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence with CPC/Tacho Card.
• Experience or understanding of transport management processes.
• Good IT knowledge for handling electronic forms and reports.
