Stress Engineer

About the role

Join a high‑performing engineering team delivering complex, regulated projects across multiple sectors. You will own structural analysis activities, ensuring designs are robust, compliant, and delivered on time and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Perform stress and structural analysis using hand calculations and FEA where required.
• Collaborate closely with design engineers to solve real‑world engineering problems.
• Produce and review design substantiation reports.
• Act as the technical authority for analysis, including oversight of subcontractor work.
• Influence early design decisions to improve manufacturability, cost, and performance.
• Support planning, mentor junior staff, and drive continuous improvement of analysis methods.

Required profile

• Strong experience in stress analysis and hand calculations (Mathcad).
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as Eurocodes, lifting or structural codes.
• Background in a highly regulated environment (e.g., nuclear, defence).
• Ability to interrogate designs and define load cases (static, dynamic, fatigue).
• Confident communicator able to justify analysis to stakeholders.
