Structured Cabling Engineer (Data Cabling Specialist)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer to join a national communications contractor in Salford. The role involves installing, terminating and maintaining CAT6/6a data cabling on 8‑hour day shifts, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test and certify CAT6 and CAT6a data cabling across commercial sites.
• Perform removals, moves and changes (RMC) of network infrastructure.
• Terminate cables using appropriate tools and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and report progress to the site supervisor.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data cabling installation and RMC activities.
• Valid CSCS or ECS accreditation (or similar industry certification).
• Own set of hand tools, installation and termination tools, and power drills.
• Ability to provide two work references and proof of right‑to‑work before starting.

Required skills

• CAT6 and CAT6a cabling installation.
• Use of SDS/impact drivers and drills.
• Hand and termination tools for data cabling.
