Student Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Student Support Worker to join the Inclusion team at a leading further‑education college in West London. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a rewarding chance to help learners with special educational needs access their curriculum, build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to students with additional learning needs.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance in English, Maths and vocational subjects, adapting approaches to individual requirements.
• Collaborate with lecturers and the Inclusion team to implement personalised support plans.
• Monitor progress, give feedback and encourage independence and positive engagement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and adhere to safeguarding, health‑and‑safety and college policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Student Support Worker or similar role supporting individuals with SEN.
• Good understanding of a range of additional needs and GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and a flexible, reliable professional attitude.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
• Availability to start in September 2026.

Required skills

• Safeguarding procedures awareness.
• First Aid or Team Teach training (advantageous).
