Subsidence Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Subsidence Engineer to manage a portfolio of subsidence claims across London and the South East. You will work on complex cases involving landslips, sinkholes, voids and alternative intervention methods, providing technical expertise from assessment through to repair.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a portfolio of subsidence claims on a project‑managed basis.
• Attend sites to carry out technical assessments and investigations.
• Determine causation, diagnose defects and assess policy liability.
• Decline claims where appropriate and manage variations.
• Prepare and submit full ABI reports with findings and recommendations.
• Oversee complex repair schemes for sub‑structure and super‑structure.
• Liaise with contractors and external suppliers, supporting the Contractor Network.

Required profile

• Prior experience in subsidence or loss adjusting.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, C.BuildE) are advantageous but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and organisational abilities.
