Supervising Social Worker – Barnsley

About the role
This temporary, full‑time position supports the Support and Supervision Team in Barnsley. You will work closely with children, young people, families and carers, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met through effective partnership working.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with children, young people and families/carers to assess needs and promote participation in decision‑making.
- Conduct statutory assessments, manage risk and produce high‑quality reports.
- Implement, review and evaluate a range of interventions for children, young people and families.
- Maintain a complex caseload independently while building a network of internal and external professionals for advice.
- Keep accurate, confidential records and produce well‑structured reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external organisations to identify and support service users.
Required profile
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Degree in Social Work.
- Previous fostering experience.

- £35 per hour (umbrella rate).
- 37 hours per week for a minimum of three months.
