About the role

Academics is recruiting supply teachers and cover supervisors for primary schools in Welwyn Garden City, starting September 2026. This temporary role offers the freedom to choose the days and schools that suit your lifestyle while delivering classroom instruction without the pressures of long‑term planning and marking.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the planned curriculum and lessons in the assigned classroom.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour.
• Adapt quickly to different year groups and school settings.
• Provide continuity of learning for pupils during staff absences.

Required profile

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have relevant experience as a Cover Supervisor.
• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
• Confident in classroom management and creating an inclusive atmosphere.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
