Support Engineer

About the role

Inspire People is looking for an experienced Support Engineer to join its rapidly growing team in Farnborough. You will work on highly secure IT environments that support UK Defence and National Security, providing first‑ and second‑line support to keep mission‑critical systems running.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support across secure environments.
• Respond to support tickets, troubleshoot hardware, software and infrastructure issues, and escalate complex problems to 3rd line.
• Deliver desk‑side and remote assistance, provision end‑user devices and onboard new users.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Windows, Azure/Entra ID and Active Directory services.
• Monitor system alerts, triage incidents and communicate planned maintenance.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates, contribute to the knowledge base and support major incident escalation.
• Occasionally travel to remote customer sites as required.

Required profile

• Active SC or DV security clearance (or ability to obtain one).
• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies in a secure environment.
• Ability to work on‑site five days a week in Farnborough.
