Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Nyetimber Lodge, Pagham. You will help adults with learning disabilities live independently, safely and with dignity, encouraging community participation and daily living skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, cooking, cleaning and medication as needed.
• Plan and accompany clients on community outings such as walks, cinema visits, shopping and café trips.
• Support clients in developing confidence, choice and control over their daily routines.
• Maintain accurate records of care activities and report any concerns to senior staff.
• Provide night‑time support on unsociable shifts, with appropriate uplift rates.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities.
• Reliable, adaptable and able to work flexible hours (21‑37 hrs/week).
• Willingness to undergo full training provided by Southdown.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Hourly rate of £13.49, with a £4.51 uplift for unsociable night shifts.
• Sleep‑in shift pay of £61 per shift and additional compensation if disturbed.
