Supporting People on Probation – Maternity Cover

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate individual to join our Supporting People on Probation team on a maternity‑cover, fixed‑term basis. The role is based in Eastbourne and will involve working across several probation offices in Sussex and occasionally with prison resettlement teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one interventions and facilitate group sessions to help people on probation overcome barriers.
• Support individuals in rebuilding family relationships and developing healthier social networks.
• Collaborate with Probation Practitioners to create and deliver personalised action plans.
• Connect clients with healthcare, community services and practical support.
• Meet with individuals prior to prison release to aid successful resettlement.
• Maintain accurate records of all interactions.

Required profile

• Strong relationship‑building and empathetic communication skills.
• Belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to change.
• Organised, resilient and able to manage a varied workload.
• Enjoys collaborative work with partner agencies.
• Excellent record‑keeping and communication abilities.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable) for travel across Sussex.
