About the role
The Systems Administrator II provides operational support for a team that manages large‑scale building management and physical security systems. The position works on a weekend shift, handling ticket‑based requests and ensuring system availability.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor ticket queue and instant‑messaging channels.
- Manage and maintain servers, networking infrastructure, and related systems.
- Record detailed ticket metadata, including categories, resolution times, and post‑mortems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tickets from internal and third‑party teams, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain professional communication with vendors and third parties.
- Provide out‑of‑hours support for scheduled upgrades.
- Offer 24/7 on‑call support for critical system outages.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of systems administration experience.
- Ability to build productive internal and external relationships.
- Good judgment within defined procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Server administration.
- Network configuration and management.
- Network troubleshooting.
- Ticketing system usage.
- Automation and scripting experience (preferred).
