Tax Director - Financial Services Tax

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Director to join the Financial Services team of a global professional services firm. Based in Leeds, you will lead complex international tax advisory projects for a diverse client base, ranging from fast‑growing businesses to large multinationals.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service delivery.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and commercial focus.
• Identify and drive new business opportunities, contribute to proposals and leverage insights from prior engagements.
• Develop and strengthen internal and external networks to support business growth.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members through delegation and on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Experienced tax professional with a strong technical background, ideally within Financial Services.
• Proven leadership capability and a client‑focused, commercially aware approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of stakeholders.
• Proactive, flexible attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing junior staff.
• Relevant professional qualification such as ATT, ACA, CA or CTA (or equivalent knowledge).
• Experience working with clients in Banking, Insurance or Wealth & Asset Management.
