Taxonomist & Information Architect – Digital Asset Management

About the role

We are seeking a Taxonomist and Information Architect to lead the integration of our Digital Asset Management system with the Collections Management system at Historic Royal Palaces. This nine‑month, full‑time contract will support the six palaces by improving data interoperability across conservation, public engagement, retail and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, refine and maintain taxonomies and metadata structures for the DAM and CMS.
• Design and implement a middleware solution to connect the DAM, CMS and website CMS.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across all six palaces to identify and deliver system improvements.
• Ensure consistent taxonomy usage and data quality throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience creating and managing taxonomies and working with metadata.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to supporting system users.
