Teacher (Montrose)

About the role

Rossie Young People's Trust is hiring a teacher for its school in Montrose. The teacher works as part of the school team to provide an inclusive curriculum for pupils, delivering a high-quality education aligned with the institution's academic aims, vision and values. The post is open to applicants aged 18 or over.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver agreed subject courses, units and learning programmes under Curriculum for Excellence and wider nationally recognised qualifications, and establish, monitor and improve standards of course delivery.
• Plan and teach class groups, providing progression routes, personalisation, choice and inclusion for young people with complex and challenging learning and behavioural needs.
• Develop individual educational programmes and one-to-one support, and promote social and life skills.
• Assess, record and report on learner progress, including internal and external moderation, and set and monitor individual targets.
• Work with colleagues, care staff, parents, social workers and other professionals, and attend educational reviews and pupil reports.
• Contribute to the school's School Improvement Plan, the Education Department's continuous improvement and the wider Business Plan.
• Take part in career-long professional learning and adhere to Health, Safety and Security requirements.

What we offer

• Hours of 35 per week.
• Salary band Pt1 to Pt5 (£43,106 to £54,103).
