Teaching Assistant (Primary School) – Blackburn

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Blackburn on a full‑time basis. The role starts in September and involves working closely with the class teacher to support pupils across all year groups.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for children who need additional help.
• Deliver pastoral care and assist pupils who require extra guidance.
• Help create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Assist in assessing pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
• Support pupils with special educational needs (SEND).
• Flexibly work across different year groups and undertake lunchtime duty.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary‑school setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and right‑to‑work in the UK.

Required skills

• Basic ICT skills to support learning activities.
