Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools in Wirral

About the role

Join supportive secondary schools across the Wirral to help students build confidence and achieve their potential. As a Teaching Assistant you will work directly with pupils, supporting learning and classroom management on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to students during lessons.
• Assist teachers in preparing resources and setting up the classroom.
• Maintain student engagement, focus and motivation throughout the school day.
• Help manage classroom behaviour to ensure a calm learning environment.
• Offer encouragement to develop confidence, self‑esteem and independence.
• Provide feedback to teachers on individual student progress.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people (schools, youth clubs, coaching, mentoring, etc.).
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with teenagers.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach to diverse learning styles.
• Ability to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK.
