Teaching Assistant – Year 3/4 (Full‑time, Term‑time)

About the role

We are recruiting a Year 3/4 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming 2‑form entry primary school in Cheltenham. The role starts in September 2026 and runs for the full academic year (until July 2027), working full‑time on a term‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning, especially in literacy and numeracy.
• Deliver targeted interventions and provide additional support for pupils with varying needs.
• Assist in preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour, pupil engagement and an inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably within Key Stage 2.
• Patient, proactive and adaptable with strong communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
