Teaching Assistant – Year 6 class

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant for a Year 6 class in a thriving primary school in West London. The school has an Ofsted rating of “Good” and offers a supportive environment with training opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum and managing classroom activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to pupils as needed.
• Assist with safeguarding duties and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Prepare and organise teaching resources and maintain records.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK primary school.
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and registration with the online update service.
• Right to work in the UK and two professional child‑related references covering the past two years.

Required skills

• Knowledge of primary‑school teaching practices and behaviour management.
• Ability to use basic IT tools for record‑keeping and resource preparation.
