About the role
Join a welcoming primary school as a Teaching Assistant, providing dedicated morning support for a Year 6 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The role is ideal for a nurturing, patient individual with experience supporting children with additional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support for the Year 6 pupil, focusing on academic progress, emotional wellbeing and lesson engagement.
- Implement strategies that promote independence and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SEN team and other staff to enhance the pupil’s learning experience.
- Help create and maintain an inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting pupils with autism or other additional needs.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Calm, patient and supportive approach to student interaction.
- Ability to adapt to individual needs and integrate smoothly into the school setting.
