Technical Accountant

About the role

Wise May Ltd is seeking a proactive, detail‑oriented Insurance Technical Accountant to join a global reinsurer. The role involves leading the administration of insurance and reinsurance contracts while ensuring data integrity across multiple lines of business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the administration of insurance and reinsurance contracts for various lines of business.
• Validate facultative entries and risks in accounting and underwriting systems, maintaining high data‑governance standards.
• Provide strategic oversight of data integrity, whether managed internally or through outsourced partners.
• Audit and input Terms & Conditions in the accounting system, implementing robust quality‑assurance protocols.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of account and claims advices, driving accountability across teams.
• Act as senior liaison between underwriting, claims, brokers, cedents, and outsourced teams to resolve complex discrepancies.
• Identify, document, and escalate issues related to outsourced deliverables, ensuring timely resolution.
• Govern outsourced initiatives, monitoring contractual obligations, quality benchmarks, and delivery timelines.
• Analyse internal reports to monitor client accounts and performance, providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
• Lead workload prioritisation within the outsourced team, maintaining SLA compliance and performance.

Required profile

• Proactive and detail‑oriented professional with experience in insurance accounting.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and underwriting data.
• Excellent communication skills to influence outcomes and foster collaboration across internal and external partners.
• Experience managing outsourced relationships and ensuring contractual compliance.
• Ability to lead teams, prioritize workload, and maintain high standards of data governance.
