Technical Architect – Cloud & Microservices (IR35)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex digital services for large‑scale public sector transformation programmes. The role is inside IR35, requires three days onsite across major UK cities, and runs for a 12‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture design for cloud‑native platforms, legacy modernisation, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Shape scalable, secure and resilient technical solutions that meet public sector standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and governance frameworks.
• Drive delivery within Agile environments, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility.
• Proven experience in UK public sector technical or solution architecture.
• Strong background in cloud architecture (AWS and/or Azure).
• Expertise in microservices, API‑led integration and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with architecture modelling, governance and stakeholder management.
