Technical Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Architect to join a consulting client’s growing architecture capability in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves designing and delivering robust technical solutions while collaborating with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and apply technical architecture requirements for solutions.
• Contribute to final decisions on hardware, network products, system software and security.
• Operate in a hybrid customer‑facing and internal role.
• Work hands‑on with the appropriate technology stacks for each project.
• Define and differentiate between non‑functional and functional requirements.
• Apply key design patterns and architectural principles.
• Identify requirements and translate them into actionable design documentation.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing technical solutions.
• Ability to work in a hybrid customer‑facing/internal environment.
• Willing and eligible to undergo UK security clearance.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholder groups.

Required skills

• Familiarity with hardware, network products, system software and security concepts.
• Knowledge of design patterns and architectural principles.
