Technical Business Analyst (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join a software delivery team within a leading global technology and consulting organisation. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on‑site in Newcastle upon Tyne each week, and offers the chance to bridge business needs with technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, process flows and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, testers, architects and UX/UI designers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement and daily stand‑ups.
• Support business change activities, impact assessments and operational readiness.
• Assist with testing, review test scripts, triage defects and resolve queries.
• Identify risks, dependencies and technical constraints and use data analysis to inform decisions.

Required profile

• 1.5–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software delivery or technology environment.
• Strong background in requirements gathering, stakeholder management and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) or Waterfall delivery.
• Proficiency in writing clear user stories and functional requirements.
• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Visio.
• Understanding of APIs, databases and system integration concepts.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to analyse data for trends and quality issues.
