Technical Delivery Lead – Python & Databricks

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to drive data engineering projects for an international bank. The role is hybrid, based in London, and combines hands‑on coding (30‑50%) with leadership of delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data engineering initiatives.
• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines using Python, Databricks and PySpark.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT solutions and Lakehouse architectures.
• Manage Agile sprints, sprint planning and stakeholder communication.
• Mentor engineers and champion best‑practice engineering standards.
• Ensure data quality, governance, monitoring and CI/CD compliance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data or software engineering.
• Proven experience in a Technical Lead or Delivery Lead role with hands‑on coding.
• Strong background in building large‑scale ETL pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Excellent stakeholder management and Agile delivery experience.

What we offer

• 6‑month contract via umbrella company.
• Hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
• Daily rate between £515 and £894.
