Technical Officer

About the role

The Technical Officer will join a fast‑growing construction products manufacturer, providing technical advice and support to both internal teams and external customers. Working Monday to Friday, 9 am‑5 pm, the role combines design review, customer liaison and commercial support to help secure sales and ensure product compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction plans and drawings, offering design and technical guidance.
• Deliver front‑line technical support via phone, email or video call.
• Manage and resolve customer queries, complaints and non‑standard product requests.
• Conduct risk analyses in line with regulations and BS standards.
• Prepare quotations, take‑offs and ventilation strategies for residential and commercial projects.
• Log and monitor enquiries, identifying trends and potential issues.
• Provide specification support to internal sales teams.
• Occasionally travel to site visits using a pool car (full UK driving licence required).

Required profile

• Confident administrator with a technical mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good numerical ability and ability to learn quickly.
• Experience in a similar role within the construction sector, preferably for a construction products manufacturer.
• Team‑player, flexible and adaptable to a fast‑paced environment.

• SAP (desirable)

What we offer

• Salary up to £30,000 per year, dependent on experience
• Full training where necessary
• Standard Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm working hours
• Pool car for site visits (full UK driving licence required)
