Technical Sales Administrator (Customer Service)

About the role

This temporary position supports a busy customer service team within a global manufacturing business on the Ellesmere Port Industrial Estate. You will act as the back‑office hub for technical sales orders, ensuring accurate processing and timely communication with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and manage high‑value technical sales orders using an SAP‑based ERP system.
• Respond to customer enquiries by email regarding order status, product queries and amendments.
• Handle freight claim back‑orders, maintain the electronic filing system and flag any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with account managers and sales representatives to keep order pipelines flowing smoothly.
• Provide coverage for planned holidays and assist with backlog reduction.

Required profile

• Previous experience in technical sales support or a similar administrative role, preferably within manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong attention to detail to catch errors before they impact commercial outcomes.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced environment.
• Own transport for commuting, as the site is not well served by public transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (or other ERP systems).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term 6‑month contract with weekly pay for 37.5 hours per week.
• Hourly rate of £16.40 plus holiday pay, totalling approximately £18.39 per hour.
• Free on‑site parking, staff canteen and modern office facilities.
• Standard working hours 9:00‑17:30, Monday‑Friday with limited flexibility.
