Technical Supervisor (Responsive Repairs)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Supervisor to lead the delivery of responsive repairs, damp & mould remediation, void and planned maintenance programmes for social housing. You will act as the main link between residents, contractors, planning teams and management, ensuring repairs are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operatives and subcontractors across all repair and maintenance activities.
• Plan and coordinate daily workloads to meet service targets.
• Carry out pre‑inspections, work‑in‑progress checks and post‑inspections.
• Monitor quality, productivity and compliance with KPIs and service standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to field teams.
• Manage contractor performance against agreed service levels.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Track budgets, labour utilisation, materials, vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Produce performance reports and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support training, performance management and development of operatives and trainees.
• Build positive relationships with residents and resolve complaints professionally.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours rota for emergency repairs.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising repairs and maintenance teams within social housing or property services.
• Recognised trade qualification such as Plumbing, Carpentry or Building Maintenance.
• Experience with responsive repairs, damp & mould, voids or planned maintenance programmes.
• Strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance practices.
• Experience managing contractors and monitoring performance against KPIs/SLAs.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
