Technical Systems Officer – Edinburgh

About the role

Our client, a well‑established organisation operating in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment, is seeking a Technical Systems Officer to join their Edinburgh headquarters. You will play a key role in delivering the ICT rolling replacement programme, supporting users and continuously improving the technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the ICT rolling replacement programme, from planning to deployment.
• Review user requirements, specify and install hardware, and manage build images and configurations.
• Maintain accurate hardware and software records in the ICT asset management system.
• Provide technical support to end‑users and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• HND or degree in a computing‑related subject.
• Minimum of 2 years’ IT support experience.
• Project management experience.
• Detailed knowledge of network operating systems.
• Strong understanding of PC architecture.
• Knowledge of network security principles and emerging trends.
• Advanced technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Desirable: Microsoft Certified Professional qualification.
• Desirable: ISO27001 Information Security Management accreditation.
