Temporary Cash & Reconciliations Assistant (3 months)

About the role

An established retail and e‑commerce business in Thurrock is looking for a detail‑oriented Temporary Cash & Reconciliations Assistant to support its finance team for a three‑month period. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will handle daily cash, banking activities and multiple payment‑platform reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage retail cash reporting, cash banking and store float.
• Assist with Loomis cash collections and related reconciliations.
• Perform daily card and e‑commerce payment reconciliations via Shopify.
• Conduct daily cash checks across HSBC and NatWest accounts.
• Complete month‑end cash and payment‑platform reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank statements with accounting records and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the wider finance team with cashbook and banking tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience in finance, treasury, cashier, banking or accounts assistance.
• Strong cash‑management and bank‑reconciliation background.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Required skills

• Shopify (payment platform experience).
• Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (knowledge desirable).
• Intermediate Excel – lookups, pivot tables, data analysis.
