Temporary Management Accountant

About the role

This temporary position offers a hands‑on Management Accountant role within a busy finance team in Taunton. You will be responsible for producing accurate month‑end accounts and providing financial insight to support business decisions during a key period.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver performance insights.
• Post journals, accruals and pre‑payments accurately and on time.
• Reconcile the balance sheet and highlight any financial risks.
• Manage supplier payments, rebates and commission calculations.
• Oversee credit control and assist with cash‑flow management.
• Maintain fixed assets, depreciation schedules and VAT returns.
• Support audits and produce ad‑hoc financial reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant.
• Strong understanding of month‑end accounting processes.
• Experience preparing management accounts and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and VAT.
• Strong Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Reliable commute to Taunton and availability to start immediately.
