About the role
This temporary position offers an experienced Payroll Officer the chance to manage the full payroll cycle for a well‑established education organisation. You will work in a busy, professional environment, ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time while meeting all statutory and pension requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end payroll processing for all employees.
- Administer the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS).
- Prepare pension returns and liaise with pension providers.
- Maintain compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and payroll legislation.
- Meet strict payroll deadlines and ensure numerical accuracy.
Required profile
- Significant experience in a payroll‑focused role within a deadline‑driven environment.
- Proven handling of pension submissions, reconciliations and year‑end returns.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proactive, solution‑focused approach to payroll administration.
