Temporary Project Manager / Contracts Manager

About the role

This temporary position is for an experienced Project Manager, Contracts Manager or Installation Manager to lead conservatory, orangery and extension projects across Cumbria. Based in an office in Kendal or Carlisle, you will combine office coordination with occasional site visits to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Review contracts and allocate work to surveyors.
• Coordinate fitting teams and subcontractors, monitoring progress and quality.
• Provide technical support and resolve installation challenges on site.
• Act as the primary contact for customers, trades and contractors.
• Maintain health and safety standards throughout all project phases.
• Track timelines, budgets and successful contract completion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Previous experience in project, contracts, site or installation management within construction or home‑improvement.
• Strong organisational ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Good commercial awareness and problem‑solving capability.
• Leadership experience coordinating teams and subcontractors.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £40,000‑£45,000 per annum (£23.07 per hour).
• Full‑time temporary contract (37.5 hours per week).
• Office base in Kendal or Carlisle with occasional travel across Cumbria.
