Temporary Works Coordinator

About the role

The Temporary Works Coordinator will join a leading national construction business at its Cumbria depot. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing all temporary works schemes that support permanent underground and above‑ground projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate temporary works schemes alongside permanent works designers.
• Review and prepare design briefs and related documentation to ensure they reflect site conditions.
• Manage internal and external designers, ensuring compliance with CDM roles for principal contractors and designers.
• Advise on temporary works loads and actions that affect permanent structures.
• Implement and monitor procedures for subcontractors, inspecting installations and issuing permits.
• Maintain site temporary works procedures and ensure staff are trained and compliant.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, preferably BEng or higher).
• Minimum 10 years post‑graduation civil engineering design experience.
• Previous experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator, Designer or Surveyor.
• Member of a relevant professional institution.

Required skills

• Proficient use of CAD software.
• Knowledge of BS5975 standards for temporary works.
• Experience preparing and reviewing design briefs and temporary works documentation.

• Salary £65,000‑£70,000 per year plus £5,000 car allowance.
