Temporary Works Design Engineer

About the role

RGB Recruitment is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join a specialist team in Bristol. You will be responsible for creating safe, compliant scaffolding and temporary works solutions for a variety of construction, heritage, marine, civil engineering and rail projects across England and Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Design innovative scaffolding and temporary works solutions that meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Manage design projects from concept through delivery, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, translating their requirements into practical designs.
• Mentor and develop junior designers, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Collaborate with pre‑contracts, sales, operations and other stakeholders to support seamless project delivery.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry regulations, technology and best practices, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong technical experience designing scaffolding systems, including suspended scaffolds, access towers and temporary structures.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage complex workloads.
• Confident client‑facing skills to develop bespoke, compliant solutions.
• Familiarity with UK scaffolding, temporary works and health & safety regulations.
