Test Systems Engineer – Software Test Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a Test Systems Engineer to join a high‑performing team developing test equipment solutions for BAE Systems in Rochester. You will work on complex, mission‑critical products, ensuring that software and hardware meet stringent defence standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test equipment solutions supporting a diverse product portfolio.
• Define and validate system requirements.
• Design software architectures and generate detailed software requirements.
• Create top‑level and detailed software designs.
• Integrate software components and perform verification and validation activities.
• Track software task maturity throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven expertise with TestStand and LabVIEW.
• Experience working in an engineering environment, preferably on test equipment design.
• Understanding of cyber‑security controls outlined in NIST SP 800‑171 and their impact on application development.
